Elegant Bridal Session in the Park | Salt Lake City Wedding Photographer

On a cloudy day in January, this elegant bridal session came to life and I could not be happier with the results. I thought this shoot definitely deserved a place on my blog! Utah Bride and Groom featured it on their blog as well, so you can go to their site to see what they had to say about it!

My videographer friend, Lexi Rabelo, invited me to photograph this session along side her and I’m so glad she did. It was a beautiful January day in Salt Lake City, Utah with mild weather and soft cloud cover. This beautiful city park with a rustic green house and frozen lake made for a picturesque backdrop. Because it had been raining earlier, we had the park almost completely to ourselves!

We started the formal session my favorite way – with first look. Sydney and Garett, our models, have been married for five years now, but Garett still had an adorable reaction to seeing his beautiful bride dressed up in a chic wedding dress by Bridal Brilliance Rentals. The modern cut and stylish striped fabric made it the perfect dress for the elegant urban look of the shoot. Statement earrings by Shop Blondee and a fur coat added even more personality and fun to the bridal look. The amazing Amanda Payge Beauty did Sydney’s hair and makeup. She made Sydney look and feel her best!

As we made our way around the park, Garett treated Sydney like his queen, carrying her train and bouquet (by @katharinaevents). It was easy to see that the two of them were just as in love then as they were on their wedding day. It started to lightly rain so we pulled out a clear umbrella and took some photos, which ended up being some of my favorite I’ve ever taken! We also used some other fun props to make the session even more fun, including sparklers and smoke bombs from Broadway Bridal. It was a blast! I would highly recommend bringing props like that to any session to have some extra fun and make the photos even more exciting!

I was so happy to capture Sydney and Garett’s love and the amazing talent of the vendors involved. It was a gorgeous shoot that serves as beautiful inspiration for any bride looking for a modern, elegant wedding look with an urban feel.
