Even for a small town, Rexburg has no shortage of options for date night! I know it can be difficult to come up with the perfect date night to impress your significant other, whether you are newly dating or newly wed! That’s why I’ve done the hard work for you and made a list of the top 20 date ideas in Rexburg, Idaho. There is something for everyone – whether you are artistic, outdoorsy, athletic, laid-back, a gamer, or a food-lover.
For all my engaged couples out there, I hope you can take a break from wedding planning and have a fun date night with your sweetheart! Wedding planning can be stressful, so don’t forget to take time to relax and spend quality time with your partner.
These ideas also work well for group dates! Get a group together and have a great time! They can also be adapted to places other than Rexburg, or for family activities as well.

1. Splatter Lab
The Splatter Lab is a super unique date because you get to make a huge mess (with no clean up!) AND bring home an awesome piece of artwork! Splatter paint on your canvas and the walls without even getting your clothes dirty. You don’t have to have any artistic skill to have a great time. Coveralls, googles, and shoe covers are provided as well as a canvas. There are rooms to accommodate groups of 2-14 people.
2. Hey Teepees Picnic
Want to have a picnic but make it super special? Hey TeePees Picnic is a luxury picnic service that does all the work for you. They provide a beautiful setup for indoor and outdoor locations so you can have a romantic, stress free evening. Just bring the food!
3. St. Anthony Sand Dunes
The sand dunes are an amazing photography location as well as a fun place to hang out. You can have a bonfire and roast marshmallows in the summer or sled on the dunes in the winter. The dunes are also a great place for stargazing.

4. Fat Cats
Fat Cats has everything! Other than the movie theater, you can choose from bowling, glow in the dark mini golf, arcade games, VR, and “Thunder Alley” neon bowling at night.
5. Nature Park
Head to Nature Park for a fun outdoor date! It is one of the prettiest parks in the area with lots of trees, bridges, ponds, and a walking path. You can also feed the ducks or play frisbee golf on the nine hole course.

6. Veld VR
If you’ve never done VR (Virtual Reality) before, you need to try it! It’s a super cool experience for first time users as well as experienced ones. There are tons of games to choose from, so there is something for everyone!
7. The Rock Gym
Rock climbing is an awesome date idea for active couples! Whether you are a beginner or an experienced climber, the Rock Gym is great for all skill levels. They often host events as well so look for that!
8. Crispy Cones
This is a totally different way to eat soft serve ice cream. Instead of a traditional ice cream cone, Crispy Cone serves cones made with fresh dough, grilled rotisserie-style and covered in toppings and ice cream. Treat your date to this delicious dessert!
9. BYU-Idaho Game Hall
The Manwaring Center of BYU-I has tons of activities for a date. You can challenge your date to a game of pool, air hockey, foosball, or ping pong. Or choose from one of the available board games.

10. Gravity Factory
The Gravity Factory is a trampoline park with tons of fun things to do. You can battle on the balance beam, jump in the foam pit, race on the ninja warrior course, play trampoline basketball, or try one of the many other activities.
11. Yellowstone Bear World
Get a taste of Yellowstone without the drive. This is a great date night for animal lovers! Spot grizzly and black bears from your car as well as other animals like elk, deer, and bison. They close during the winter so plan accordingly!
12. Millhollow Restaurant
This restaurant is famous for its soft serve treats and grilled sandwiches. It is now the oldest home-grown restaurant in town and offers a homey vibe with great food.

13. Rexburg Farmers Market
Check out the farmers market on Friday evenings in June through October! Support local businesses, try some yummy food, and stroll around the market with your date. There are often special events going on at the market as well.
14. Righteous Slice
This is the place for amazing pizza! Their pizza is authentic Italian style cooked in a brick oven. Delicious!
15. Rexburg Re-Escape Room
Test your skills under pressure in an escape room! You and your date can work together to solve the mystery and escape.
16. Go on a Hike
Take your date on a hike! It’s a great way to get outside and get some exercise. And it doesn’t have to be an intense hike! There are lots of options in Rexburg, like Hidden Valley Loop (2 miles), Civil Defense Caves (4 miles), Ice Caves (2 miles), or Thousand Springs Trail and Castle Lake (9.6 miles).
17. BYU-I Outdoor Resource Center
Rent outdoor gear at a super affordable price from the Outdoor Resource Center. They have tons of winter equipment like skis, snowboards, and sleds so that you can enjoy winter activities at a low cost.

18. Karie Anne’s Frozen Desserts
This food truck is open through the summer in Rexburg. They serve delicious frozen treats made with Italian ice and custard in tons of different flavors. It is a deliciously refreshing treat to share with your date.
19. Day Date to Grand Teton National Park
Grand Teton National Park is only about 1.5 hours from Rexburg, and it has some of the most beautiful mountains in the U.S.! It is a must-see for any nature lover. There are plenty of places to go explore, take pictures, or hike. Some of my favorite spots are Schwabacher’s Landing, Jenny Lake, and Oxbow Bend.
20. Waterfalls
There are quite a few gorgeous waterfalls near Rexburg to check out! Mesa Falls is stunning, with an easy, beautiful drive to get there. Monkey Rock is close to Rexburg and great for swimming. Fall Creek Falls is another beautiful waterfall on the Snake River less than an hour drive from Rexburg.
Bonus: A photo session date!
Here is a little bonus date you may not have considered before! A photo session is actually an AWESOME date and you will get to keep those memories forever. No special occasion is necessary—it’s always a good idea to document you and your sweetheart at any stage in your lives. Anniversaries, birthdays, holidays, graduations, or other milestones are also a great excuse for photos and they are extra special to look back on.
You may not know this if you haven’t done a photo session with me yet, but taking pictures is actually super fun!!! You get to spend time with your sweetheart in a beautiful place, cuddle and kiss if you want to, and you will look and feel amazing in the final photos. I am definitely biased, but I think it is one of the best date ideas in Rexburg, Idaho. 😉
